Here is a picture of Ricardo, the nurse I worked with at the Roble Alto community center in Desamparados, Costa Rica. Ricardo is the only nurse at the community center and treats the kids of all ages. He worked previously in a hospital and decided to transition to a job with more contact with the youth to help impact their lives. This is especially important for these kids at the Roble Alto center because they all come from disadvantaged backgrounds and need an adult to look up to and help inspire them. Ricardo was extremely helpful and patient with the students that came in to his office and always listened to them.
